Meat Raffle #3 is coming up on Sunday, September 17! Why should you go to a meat raffle…..? This doesn’t sound like a good time…BUT IT IS! How can winning a package of meat be fun? Well guess what…these things are so addictive that there are websites devoted to local meat raffles to make sure everyone is aware of these and has a chance to go!!! If someone is pestering you and bugging you…GO! Many of the people that are regulars at meat raffles resisted, but once you go to the first one, you will be hooked!!! It really does have something for everyone. You are providing money to an organization that could certainly use it. If you have a gambling itch, you can make the most out of a cheap night out. Free wine/beer is always a draw for some. All things considered, it is a few hours of fun for very little $$, with a better than average chance to WIN SOME MEAT!!! Bringing in your own snacks is widely accepted and encouraged, and this is where coming with a crowd really is fun! Be assured that you, your friends and family, and everyone else will have a great time! Ticket are available at weekend Masses or by calling SJK grad Diane Czajka: 897-3562. Your $5 admission enters you into a drawing for $100 cash! The Matthew Glab Post in Lackawanna has a proven track record for meat raffles. Mini theme baskets and 50-50 split, too. We wold love to see you at this event!

Saint John Kanty Parish to End Year Long Anniversary Celebration with Mass and Dinner on November 19!
In November, 1892 the cornerstone was set in place for Saint John Kanty Roman Catholic Church, located on Broadway between Brownell and Swinburne Streets. The new church was established to provide a third worship site for a growing Polish community on Buffalo’s East side. On November 19, 2017 at 1 p.m., Bishop Richard Malone, along with graduates of the church school, will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving to commemorate 125 years as a parish community. Following Mass dinner and dancing will take place at the Millennium Hotel in Cheektowaga. Dinner tickets can be purchased by calling the church rectory (893-0412 – 9-noon, Mon-Fri). Tickets will also be available in the church vestibule before weekend Masses (4 p.m. Saturday; 10:30 a.m. Sunday) until November 5, the deadline to purchase tickets. The cost is $40 and includes hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar from 3 p.m.-4 p.m. followed by a family style dinner of soup, salad, pork chops, beef jardinière, mashed potatoes, carrots, sweet and sour cabbage, cake/ice cream and coffee. Wine is included with dinner. Following the meal Rare Vintage will provide music for dancing. Group seating is available upon request. We extend a warm invitation to former parishioners and school graduates to attend the 125th Anniversary celebration on November 19…we would love to pack the pews, reconnect with old friends and make new friends!
