Diane Czajka Awarded the Saint Joseph the Worker Medal at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral March 9, 2024

The Lay Award of St. Joseph is presented to those who have dedicated their time to various ministries within their individual parishes. The Greater East Buffalo Family is very proud that both Diane Czajka, St John Kanty, and Lucy Ederer, Corpus Christi, were nominated for this award!

For many years Diane has led Team Pierogi/Team Placek, our church’s largest fundraising event that takes place during Lent. She also provides leadership for our special dinners (BBQ chicken dinner, which will take place in June this year and the Meat Raffle, scheduled on May 3). Before Covid other special dinners (beef rollups and Polish Platter) took place in our Lyceum. In addition to the above Diane has been a liaison with St John Kanty Boy Scout Troop 107, engaging them in various efforts in the church such as Christmas and Easter decorating. She is a member of our Rosary Society. Diane is also a grad of Saint John Kanty School. In addition Diane is the first one to offer rides to church or appointments for our parishioners in need.

Diane is quick to let people know that her supportive workers deserve some of the credit for the award she recently received!

Below are various photos showing Diane with family and friends before/during and after the award…CONGRATULATIONS DIANE AND LUCY!
