Exterior Repairs to Rose Window Underway!

The funds to repair our beautiful windows have been donated by a parishioner – THANK YOU! Thanks also to Henry and Brett Swiatek and staff for your work here at SJK!!

Restoration of our rose window, original to our church, is being carried out by Swiatek Studios.

Restoration of our rose window, original to our church in 1892, started on October 20 and is being carried out by local artistry and architectural restoration specialists Swiatek Studios (www.swiatekstudios.com).

Certain parts of the wooden window frame have deteriorated and will be replaced, and the window will be recalked, sealed and painted.

Mullion and frame restoration will be carried out where necessary and the window will be recalked, sealed and painted.

The nave windows on Swinburne St will also receive repairs and/or replacement of the protective covers as well as repainting.

Missing or broken panes of the nave windows on Swinburne St will also receive repair/replacement and repainting. Replacement pieces will be ventilated as necessary so as not to cause condensation or additional oxidation of the leaded windows.

Exterior paint and sealing of the rose window was completed Fri October 24.
