INTRODUCING…OUR NEW ICON!

Meet the very beautiful OUR LADY OF CZESTOCHOWA! When you enter the church via the Brownell door you will see a striking painting of OUR LADY at the side altar. This painting was created in Czestochowa, Poland and at the request of Fr Robert Golombek via the Mother Superior of the Felician Sisters, was blessed by Cardinal Karol Józef Wojtyła, later to become our Pope. The new Icon is a replacement for our former OLC, which was very deteriorated and beyond repair. The situation was discussed with Fr Bob, and he came forward with this Icon, which was in his personal collection. From Deacon Rick: ‘This is a beautiful work of art that brings us back to the time when Mary made her presence known through this painting to overcome the evil trying to destroy the hope and faith of the people. May She still be with us today!’

Fr Bob will be celebrating Mass at SJK on Saturday, July 4 at 4 p.m. You will have an opportunity at that time to thank him personally for his continued support and generosity towards St John Kanty Parish.
